Covid Safety Precautions for Newborn Photography Sessions

Clients email to ask every day if I’m currently photographing newborns given the current state of the pandemic, and the answer is definitely yes! This stage of your baby’s life is short and it is fleeting. If these memories aren’t captured in their earliest days there is simply no way to recreate them down the road. That being said, a safe (and healthy!) experience for my littlest clients and their families is my top priority! Here are some of the things that I’m doing in the studio to ensure safety for all involved.

Health Measures

Before each session I regularly monitor my temperature. I ask that clients take their temperature before coming to the studio as well. I will wear a mask the entire duration of our session and I ask that adults and children over 3 wear a mask at all times, except while being photographed. I have soft disposable masks that won’t leave marks on faces, and I’m happy to provide them. I also run a high-grade air purifier before and during every session. Hand sanitizer is used frequently during sessions and will be available at the studio.

Studio Cleaning Policy

After each session the studio is deep cleaned. I sanitize every surface that can possibly be touched before and after sessions so that germs aren’t spread between clients. All surfaces are wiped with disinfectant wipes. Every backdrop, blanket, wrap and prop used during the session is washed/sanitized.

48 Hours Between Sessions

Until further notice I will only schedule one studio session every other day to allow time for proper cleaning. Also, only immediate family members are allowed during sessions.

No Shoes in the Studio

You will be asked to remove your shoes when you arrive and leave them by the doorway. It helps to keep the floors cleaner, and is a great way to settle in for your session and get comfy!

Sick Policy

Clients are required to disclose and reschedule the session if their child or anyone coming to the studio has had a fever or any other symptoms such as a cough, runny nose, or vomiting in the last 48 hours. I’ll happily find another date for our session, and there is no fee to reschedule.
