Operation Father’s Day

Get ready for a long post—I love so many images from this session that I just couldn’t help myself.

Kimberly is a very talented graphic artist (she designed my logo…which I love!) and has a fantastic sense of style.  So, when she told me that she wanted to do a session to surprise her husband for Father’s Day I knew it would be great.  We planned the session on a day that he was out of town on business (hence, Operation Father’s Day!).  Everything was on track, but when I woke up that morning I looked out my window to see  a sky full of clouds and it looked like it was going to rain.  I was bummed because I knew Kimberly was hoping for bright, sunny beach pictures.  We decided to wait and hoped that the clouds would burn off….and thankfully they did!

I love the bright cheery colors…

We shot at the pier in Ventura which always makes for perfect backdrop….

Another great idea (of Kimberly’s…remember that great sense of style I mentioned!) was to keep the piece of driftwood that they drew the heart with and tie it to a gift wrapped storyboard for the actual Father’s Day gift.  It will be a little clue as to what’s inside!image10

Well…I hope John doesn’t find my blog and ruin the surprise.  Somehow I doubt he’s one of my loyal followers.

Thanks so much you guys.  I had a great time!
